Biennale Internazionale Grafica (BIG) is a widespread festival dedicated to communication design and visual cultures.
Born out of the experience of the Milan Graphic Festival 2022, BIG aims to promote visual communication design outside the inner circle of experts.
BIG is not limited by a single theme, but by a series of cross-sectional topics that will be the opportunity for discussion and debate: from urban regeneration to the environment, from gender identity to education, with a special focus on the city, the youth and sustainability.
First of all because it is essential to spread the values and practices of this discipline even outside the strictly professional or academic field, but above all because it is important to reflect and encourage people to consider the role and responsibilities of communication design in the context of the urgencies that the contemporary world presents us with.
Four days of exhibitions, installations, talks, workshops, social projects and events with open access spread throughout the city - starting from the main hub of Milano Certosa District together with the ADI Design Museum - in collaboration with important Milanese cultural institutions and entities, such as museums, schools, art galleries, archives, studios and bookshops.

In this first edition of BIG there will be numerous Italian and international guests, protagonists of in-depth analysis and research moments dedicated to experts, students and enthusiasts. During the four days of the Biennale there will be an extensive calendar of talks, seminars and workshops held by some of the most important figures on the Visual Design scene, in order to develop a dialogue with the public on the many topics that shape the world of Communication Design.
Sustainability, inclusion, social stability, artificial intelligence, cultural multi-ethnicity, environmental crisis, migration, protection of minorities. These are just some of the key concepts that we would like to address in our journey to expand our field of interest. We see our festival as a complex cultural project that must, at least in its intentions, address both the professional and the social spheres.
